Abstract

Schizophrenia is a disorder of several mental modalities, including perceptual thinking (hallucinations), self-experience under the control of external forces, cognition, volition (loss of motivation) and behavior. According to WHO 2021, people with schizophrenia disorder have been found to be around 24 million people worldwide. Adherence is based on drug instructions describing the drug terms, including using and following applicable food restrictions in a timely manner. However, many schizophrenia patients are not compliant in treatment. Medication non-adherence is a major challenge in the treatment of schizophrenia patients globally because the treatment of schizophrenia patients does require a long time.  One of the therapies that can improve patient compliance in their treatment is mindfulness therapy.
