Dominasi Stres Kerja akibat Konflik Peran Ganda pada Perempuan di Unit Gawat Darurat dan Intensive Care Unit

Abstract


Dual role conflict results in adverse effects on health by decreasing mental health and psychological well-being. A longitudinal study explained the relationship between dual role conflict and mental health found to differ by gender. The purpose of this study was to compare the level of work stress due to dual role conflict between male and female nurses in the emergency and intensive care units of government hospitals in Jember Regency. This study used a cross-sectional design. The technique for determining the research subjects was total sampling. Data were collected by filling out questionnaires, then continued with analysis using the Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests. The results showed differences in work stress due to dual role conflict between male and female nurses in the emergency and intensive care units with a p value = 0.019; there was a difference in work stress due to dual role conflict between male and female nurses in the emergency and intensive care units with a p value = 0.021; and there was no difference in work stress due to dual role conflict between male and female nurses in the intensive care unit with a p value = 0.133. Furthermore, it was concluded that work stress in female nurses is higher than in male nurses, so it can be an evaluation material for hospitals to carry out stress management actions for nurses.

ABSTRAK

 

Konflik peran ganda mengakibatkan efek buruk pada kesehatan dengan menurunnya kesehatan mental dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Sebuah studi longitudinal menjelaskan hubungan antara konflik peran ganda dan kesehatan mental ditemukan berbeda menurut jenis kelamin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan tingkat stres kerja akibat konflik peran ganda antara perawat laki-laki dan perempuan di instalasi gawat darurat dan intensive care unit rumah sakit pemerintah di Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross-sectional. Teknik penentuan subyek penelitian adalah total sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian kuesioner, lalu dilanjutkan dengan analisis menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U dan Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan stres kerja akibat konflik peran ganda antara perawat laki-laki dan perempuan di instalasi gawat darurat dan intensive care unit dengan nilai p = 0,019; terdapat perbedaan stres kerja akibat konflik peran ganda antara perawat laki-laki dan perempuan di instalasi gawat darurat dengan nilai p = 0,021; serta tidak terdapat perbedaan stres kerja akibat konflik peran ganda antara perawat laki-laki dan perempuan di intensive care unit dengan nilai p = 0.133. Selanjutnya disimpulkan bahwa stres kerja pada perawat perempuan lebih tinggi daripada perawat laki-laki, sehingga dapat menjadi bahan evaluasi bagi rumah sakit untuk melakukan tindakan manajemen stres kepada perawat.
